Hope this letter finds you well and perhaps sipping on something warm or with the remains of crunched leaves clinging to you clothes. We are entering our second Spring (trying to stay positive about missing my beloved Autumn). Mrs Host is going to plant daffodils soon, daffodils in November. Gleefully I stood in the rain today. It was the first rain for I believe 5 months, it lasted only moments but fell passionately.
Since our last letter we have gotten to spend time with people from church. Dan and I feel overwhelmed (in a positive way) by listening to people tell their stories, stories of God meeting them. Grateful hearts , patience in helplessness, and comfort in pain. We feel blessed to with these people and worship God (who meets each of our needs) together.
I am getting lots of opportunity to teach the kids at church. It’s been very enjoyable and challenging. I wish I spoke fluent Hebrew, and Burmese…but smiles will have to do for now. In addition to teaching at church I also am teaching the Sered kids Wednesday and Thursdays at their house for 5 hours a day. This gives Dinah more time to help out with Jews for Jesus, with Bible studies and discipleship. The Sered kids are dearhearts and adore Jesse.
Dan gets to preach the 17th and the 24th, you could pray for creativity for him as he longs to facilitate a time people can spend with God, and communicate in a way everyone can understand.
There are so many stories and observations I want to stick in here but simply can’t, however I would strongly encourage you to check out my Instagram account (username: mrsannieabbott) as it has snippets of everything.
To close here is an excerpt of an email Dan sent to a friend. It’s a story everyone at the church is excited about and we look forward to how it will unfold….
"Also, which may be my favorite story so far is that I got a chance to have coffee with a 21 year old Israeli soldier who became a Christian about 2 or 3 months ago. Dan Sered (Head of Jews for Jesus) has been meeting with him every Friday for about 6 weeks discipling and getting to know him better. In any case I was able to tell him my story and he was able to share his story. His family is Orthodox Jew which basically means they will not be very happy about his decision to follow Jesus. It has been such a blessing to begin walking alongside him through this and encourage him in His walk. He has now been to church twice and seems to love it. I can’t wait to see what God does."
We would love to hear from you.
May your home be filled with peace and your mouth with joy.
