Fun parent style

Dan is pretty great, just saying.  Spending time together is a big deal to both of us, however we are having to rethink what that looks like since Jesse has joined the outsiders.

This last Abbott weekend (mid week weekends are how we roll) Dan discovered that there is a put-put green only minutes from our home.

We grabbed Jesse, the Ergo, a fresh bottle and piled into the car.

Doing things together we have made some "brilliant" moves and some "now we know" moves...

For us evening events are sketchy at best, so always have the ergo handy.

Do NOT try  "shortening" a feeding (big mistake).

Sometimes bottles are your best friend. <3

Strollers can go off roading and they can ford fountains.

Doctor offices and Jesse just don't mix well so be prepared.

babies and casarole

Tuesday came around, Dan and I were talking and iI decided that I could make a casserole. Often (before Jesse was born)I would make up a bunch of food during my long quiet evenings at home. Then Dan and I could take it to work during the week.   Nothing crazy, just things like rice, chicken and soup.  Well Tuesday we had a bunch of canned food that lent themselves towards Mexican, and casserole love to reheat.

I love the recipe I picked you can try it here ....

Our baby slept oddly Saturday-Monday so Tuesday was me holding my breath and holding the baby in hopes he would sleep (he loves to cuddle). About 7pm I successfully laid Jesse down and began to prep the casserole and make some eggs for me to eat.

About the time the meat got browned Jesse woke and it was time to nurse, Jesse averages 40 minutes for nursing, than my parents came by for a visit. My mom noticed the burner was still on (thus drying out the meat). Around 9:30 I was able to go back to the casserole. By 11 (4 hours after starting)  it was all baked and beautiful, and yes it reheated wonderfully.

All this to say I'm trying to learn how ride the wave of babyland...
