Saying Goodbye

Sitting here watching the sun dip over the west hills is a bitter sweet moment, I'm reminded of the hundreds of times I've watched it descend over the last two years since coming to this home on the evening of our wedding. Since then many memories have been made in this house, the joys and hiccups of newlyweds, laughter and tears, dreaming of children and now, listening to my baby boy sleep in the other room.  However it is time to start saying goodbye.  September 15th is one month away and on that morning we 3 Abbotts will leave for an adventure and though we will probably return to Portland, we will leave this home behind forever.
I am really truly excited for the adventure that lays before us, waiting for us to come and meet it. Excited to work alongside God and Dan, however that may look. Glad Jesse gets to learn to crawl
continents away from where he learned to breath (maybe learning to walk and talk will each have their own continents also).

Growing up, before each move it always seemed bleak, then my parents would remind us of all the memories and people we had gained with each move, reassuring us that more sweet treasures lay in wait for us.  Really I still believe them, but tonight saying Goodbye to our  little nest  above the city is a little more bitter than sweet.
Look up the location "our nest" for more great views
